2004
New Record ! This time it is done ! On Tuesday March,
9, Jean-Luc VAN DEN HEEDE crossed the finishing line located
between Lizard and Ushant at 5h 34’ 16’’.
He succeeded and achieved his exploit by bringing the Global
Challenge record down to 122 days 14 hours, 3 minutes and
49 seconds.
2002
Global Challenge
Third attempt to beat the record for sailing around the world
against the winds
and currents. This time Adrien was in the Southern Ocean
and significantly ahead of the record time when she lost
her mast.
VDH succeeded in setting up a jury rig which allowed him
to get his boat back to Tasmania. From there, Jean-Luc brought
his boat back to Les Sables d’Olonne with a substitute
mast.
2001
Global Challenge
Second attempt to beat the record for sailing around the world
against the winds
and currents. There was a problem with the attachment of Adrien's
keel such that her skipper was forced to give up after rounding
the Horn. VDH plugged the cracks as best he could and brought
his boat back to harbour.
1999
